- Northbound Bond Connect: The monthly trading volume of August was RMB 803.9 billion, and the monthly average daily turnover stood at RMB 38.3 billion. Policy financial bond and Chinese government bond were the most popular bond types, accounting for 58% and 22% of the trading volume respectively.
- Northbound Swap Connect: 906 transactions were traded in August 2026, with volume of RMB 543.101 billion. By the end of August, 99 overseas institutions had been disclosed as onboarded under Northbound Swap Connect.
- On 12 August, ePrime supported Shanghai Electric Group Company Limited’s successful issuance of Free Trade Zone (FTZ) Offshore Green Bonds totaling RMB1.5 billion with a tenor of 3 years, and a coupon rate of 1.80%. The main participating institutions in this bond issuance, including Guotai Junan International, completed bookbuilding, order allocation, and pricing smoothly through ePrime Issuance Service.
- On 6 August, BCCL and CICC co-hosted a webinar on “2026 Panda Bond Market: Opportunities from Issuance to Investment”, inviting the Economic Minister at the Embassy of Pakistan to share their panda bond issuance cases. The event also featured China Foreign Exchange Trade System, Asian Development Bank, Crown Agents Investment Management and Pakistan Allied Bank on panda bond market trends, issuance mechanism, and the opportunities for international investors and issuers.
- PMIP disclosed the pre- and post-issuance information of 88 primary bonds in August.
